“ This is place is terrific! No compromises, straight up real Korean cooking and welcoming staff. Would go back multiple times a week if I lived nearby. ”
“ This restaurant almost reminds me of a small Chinese takeout store. It is pretty small inside with around 5-6 tables but the food was great and they even had soy marinated crab!! I've been seeing this a lot online and been wanting to try and debated between soy marinated or spicy marinated which they also had. The soup was flavorful and the crab was tasty! The portion was also good. They did not skimp on the seafood in my soup. My partner ordered the cod fish soup and it was delicious too. ”
“ I recently ventured out to Centerville to try Hwangbooja Korean Restaurant on a friend’s recommendation, and it did not disappoint! The highlight of my visit was the Korean marinated crab, which I tried for the first time. We had both the spicy and soy sauce flavors, and while both were delicious, the spicy version was definitely my favorite—it’s a “rice killer” for sure. It did take some practice to squeeze the flesh from the crab, so if you’re not familiar with marinated crabs, I recommend looking up a quick video or going with a friend who can show you how. We also ordered the jokbal (braised pig’s trotters), naengmyeon (cold noodles), and kimchi pancake, all of which were super flavorful and offered a variety of textures and seasoning. The fresh and plentiful banchan were also nice. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the low key atmosphere made for a relaxing dining experience. Overall, the restaurant offers authentic Korean food, and I’ll definitely be back for more! ”
“ Came here for the first time and was so shocked that they served gaejang (raw crab) because besides from Korea, it's usually difficult to find a place that will serve this. I was very impressed and with the high cost of crabs, naturally it was too 27.99 per portion but I do think the portions were generous. I would say it was equal to about 5-6 crabs? We also ordered the guk bap (soup/rice) and it was so flavorful! They do offer some toppings you can add if you want to make it saltier, spicier or more peppery. The service was ok, there was noone up front when we initially got there. Someone eventually walked in and waited on us but honestly, it was hard to tell who was a worker and who were customers. Inside they have about 10ish tables but not suitable for large parties if that is what you're looking for. It is located within a strip shopping center so it's most ideal for a quick lunch situation. ”
“ Hwangbooja Korean Restaurant Hangbooja Korean Restaurant It's been a long time since I've been to Hwangbooja Restaurant. I've lived here a long time and eaten at many Korean restaurants in Centerville, but it's been a while since I've been to Hwangbooja Restaurant. The food was not very good when I visited before (few years ago). However, an acquaintance had recently visited the restaurant and recommended that the food had improved since the owner changed, so I went for dinner. Upon entering the restaurant, I realized that it had been renovated and the menu was quite diverse. I tried (Grilled mackerel served with Doenjang Jjige) and (Spicy marinated pork). The side dishes that were served beforehand were really neat and tasty, and the main dish that followed was delicious. The spicy marinated pork was a little too salty for my taste, but overall it was delicious. The team behind us was ordering a variety of dishes, and it looked like they had already tried a lot of the menu. Also, the owner was very friendly and listened to his customers! I left the restaurant thinking, "I wish I had found this restaurant sooner. If you're ever wondering where to go for dinner, give Hwangbuja Korean Restaurant a try! ”
“ 5/5 would recommend. We had the Jaeyuk Bogeum and Wooguhjee Haejangguk. Jaeyuk Bogeum had a delightful smoky flavor, while the Wooguhjee Haejangguk was very refreshing filled with fresh ingredients. Overall, the food tasted great and was well-priced. The tables and bathroom were very clean. Most importantly, service was excellent. ”
“ i used to think the El Salvadorans make the best Galbi soup, but it turns out that the Koreans still make the best ones. Reasonable priced too ”
“ I came back for lunch with my colleagues. I can honestly say that they have the most authentic Korean dishes in the DC Metropolitan area. I personally enjoy coming to eat because everything is delicious!!! I really enjoy coming to this place. ”
